B. | Spotlight Feature

Welcome back to another feature by the Rooted Minds Blog, where we connect with Artists and Entrepreneurs to learn about their journey and shed some light on the various happenings in our community.

Our brand is big on being able to connect with other emerging artists and learn about their journeys. So many of us have very unique stories and approaches, so we believe that it’s important to highlight those moments and continue to put that good energy out into the world.

This feature we've been following for some time. I believe we were originally put on to his music through brand family Fransisco Phoenics and his Rolling With the Rolling Stoner Podcast. We are excited to finally bring this feature to life, so let's tap in with Phoenix native B. (@BFROMTHEAV)

BIO:

B. is a music artist from Phoenix, Arizona, who is building a label (Vineyard Style Records), brand, and sound that is based on where/how he grew up. B. has opened up for a number of artists, as well as performed on stages across the valley. He has released several innovative music videos that depict his lifestyle and brand aesthetic while featuring other music artists in his network. In this interview, we will learn about what motivates and inspires him to create.

Testimonial:

Opened for Kendrick Before he was famous

Opened for Dom Kennedy in 2014 One of my favorite artists but he dogged the shit out of us because we were backstage, funny story lol

I opened for e-40 back in 2018 as well, I don’t have footage on YouTube or that just on my phone. We built our label up from ground 0, just us and good music and consistently dropping dope visuals to match, hopefully, we can give hope to inspiring artists out here to be themselves and go for what they believe in as well.

SPOTLIGHT FEATURE

B.

RM: Rooted Minds

B: BFROMTHEAV

RM: What has been your journey to being in the field that you’re in today? (Artist, Musician, Athlete, Entrepreneur, Business Owner, Creative, Etc.) What has been the most impactful lesson that you've learned?

B: I started as a producer of a homeboy, then he got me to rap on one of his tracks and I never stopped since then, my most impactful lesson so far in this journey is to believe in your own vision because nobody can see it like you, and don’t just believe it. Live it and be yourself.

RM: For those that may not know, how did you come up with the name or concept for your business, brand, channel, or project?

B: The name of our Brand is Vineyard Style Records, the name Vineyard is a street me and the fam from in south Phoenix, the style comes from the inspiration of Snoop Doggystyle is one of my favorite albums and I put the Vineyard Style to it

RM: 1) Tell us about your inspiration behind an upcoming project. 2) What do you hope to accomplish and what do you hope people take away from it?

B: The inspiration behind my upcoming project which is called 1LIFE, 1STYLE. Is the concept of it being 1 you and you being confident in that, also means living your life to the fullest, whatever that may be because we only get 1 of them so leave your mark.

RM: What are some effective ways you've marketed yourself in your space and industry?

B: The most effective way I feel I’ve marketed myself has been through consistency and good music, I feel it is something that hasn’t been heard before with a style that has yet to be introduced, so going hard with the style and of course, promotion, that cost money, you know how it goes lol

RM: How have you grown in your field (entrepreneur or creative) in the last 5 years and who's been influential in that process?

B: I feel I’ve grown from ground 0, I’m humble so it’s not huge, but from the support base I got from ground 0 of me just starting with the family and the homie who is a cameraman, to actually have people tuning in every drop is growth in itself, the most influential in that is the fact I was able to get 1 listener of some music that I like to hear, that influenced and motivated me to keep making what I like to hear because others may like it too

RM: What are some short-term goals that you are working towards, that friends and supporters can help you with?

B: Just more networking, interviews, shows

RM: 1) What are one or two things that keep you rooted/grounded? 2)How do you practice good self-care or how can you practice it better (if you've been lacking in that area)?

B: My love for the actual music keeps me grounded as far as music goes, I can care less to be famous, I just want some dope music that people from AZ can represent. My family as well keeps me grounded, nothing without them. As far as self-care I just mind my business. The best way to handle self-care lol

RM: What are some words of wisdom or encouragement for upcoming creatives, entrepreneurs, or people in a similar situation that you'd like to share?

B: Be yourself, stay consistent and creative

RM: What has been the best piece of advice you have ever received in reference to your journey, career, and industry?

B: Be you
